Flippin Sweet Family Blog

Hey everybody!

How are we all doing? I am doing awesome out here and very glad to still be doing well in the work of the Lord. My companion has flipped like a switch and we are working harder than ever before and I am loving it! It is not that he was ever not working, or like the light wasn’t on, just that now it has been amplified and we are doing some awesome things out here. We are most likely going to have at least 2 baptisms this month, and we already have a goal set to put up 6 more dates this week! We are enjoying the work of the lord a lot and both doing awesome, learning and growing together, and feeling the spirit around every corner in our lives. I am glad I have one more exchange with my mission “padre”.

I found out that there are different breeds of varicela here, and that you can contract it up to three times. Also that the vaccination I have for it has not worked for the other missionaries before me. Yea…. (Thumbs up of fear)

There is a ton of things here that are very different and that I do not agree with here, but that I am learning lessons from, whether it is things to do, or things to not do, but it is hard to see some of these things. There is abuse around all corners, and it is hard to watch malnourished children get whipped by their parents, and then receive more when they start to cry, and receive more until the crying stops. I am in a different world and have been blessed more than I realized, and I am learning about things in my family that I am going to be really diligent about. I am going to raise a family with love as Christ would, and not with an overbearingly strong hand as it is here.

I have eaten all sorts of new foods, and I will make a list to send to you all next week so you can look up pictures and try to find some of them, but I don’t have quite all of them down right now, and I will have to think for a while to get them all. I haven’t eaten anything I hated yet, but I don’t want to speak to soon on that…

Pictures that I have this week:
The wooden placas and the three of us at the bus stop is my mission family tree.
A few new things that I bought this week, me and my companion dead at 2:30am because we had to take a 6 hour long bus ride to make it to a meeting one day.
A pencil that isn’t broken but is bent do to the heat of the sun in my bag, sleeping on the bus ride home, the stars, an ugly cat showing its teeth for Ali 😉
My broken scriptures 🙁
Us getting creative with boring food, and the fighting roosters at the house of Abi

Love you all and hope you are all doing awesome!
