One of my latest troubles with people is hearing that they don’t have time, only to open up my facebook account, and see all the completely meaningless games that people play, perhaps most of the day. I get onto to facebook only occasionally, so little in fact that Firefox usually forgets my password by the time I return. Needless to say, I don’t spend time playing the mindless games, as nobody should make time for that kind of worthless junk.
Facebook is a pretty good idea, and when people use it for social ( that’s another topic ) reasons, I think it is relatively good software. Back when people only posted quick thoughts, or what they were doing, it was useful. However now it is chuck full of junk like, ‘Mafia Wars”, “Nicest Person” and “Restraunt City”. All of which someone has to sift through just to see what their brother is doing. It has lost meaning, and perhaps, if not already, die off.
Today someone shared some thougths on how each of us have activities in our lives, that are good activities, that we spend way too much time doing. They encouraged us to take inventory of the activities we do, and see how this time could be used to better serve our families, our community and even bettering ourselves. This type of process, the time alocation review, should be performed often. And as always, if one feels everything is going well in their life, they usually are far from it.
